South London vocalist and producer Saint Jude has revealed his final track of 2025 in the form of ‘Desire Lines’. The crux of the track was written as a post-breakup stream of consciousness in just thirty minutes, before a long period of detailed edits turned it into the cinematic cut heard today. “Something in that John Berger quote massively resonated with me,” Jude says of the track, which was inspired by an extract from the 1972 John Berger novel G. “Something about human potential and the world as a changeable, malleable thing. Nothing is set in stone.” The sound of the track is unique, with a hugely reverberant, detailed yet distorted guitar taking centre stage and leading us to a sonic world that feels positioned somewhere between Prince and Billy Bragg.
